Local News & Events
We're always celebrating something in New Orleans, but right now the spirits of our residents and tourists are higher than ever. This Sunday, Feb. 7, the New Orleans Saints will face the Indianapolis Colts in Superbowl XLIV at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami.
This will be the Saints' first ever appearance in the Superbowl and will air on CBS starting at 8 p.m. EST. Needless to say, energy will be high in the Crescent City this weekend! If you are hosting or attending a Superbowl party, check out these New Orleans inspired recipes to get the party vibe even if you're not there!
Regardless of Sunday's outcome, the people of New Orleans won't have time to dwell on it because Mardi Gras is right around the corner with Fat Tuesday on February 16. This year's celebration will mark the 173rd year of parading in New Orleans, and will be the fourth Mardi Gras celebration since Hurricane Katrina devastated the city.
A record number of visitors is expected this year and Festiva's Frenchmen Orleans is the perfect place to take it all in. If you can't make it this year it's never too late to start planning for next year, because as the city's motto reiterates, laissez les bon temps rouler year after year.
